We invite you to join our efforts in making capital improvements to our ministry homes and properties at Open Door.  When we renovate our structures inside and out, we continue God’s work to restore many lives in the same way. 

 
 
 

Project #1

Marion Homes Exterior Renovations

 

Project #1: Marion Homes Exterior Renovations

Goal: $100,000

Projected Start Date: April 15, 2023

Purpose: To complete exterior construction repairs for our Marion ministry homes such as: soffits, facia, gutters, paint, brick work, porch repair, etc.

Impact: Our Marion home residents embrace Christ-centered restoration through mentorship on our home porches and community at our home tables, which helps change their circumstances and life patterns to move them toward self-sufficiency.

Lighthouse Renovations

Project #2: Lighthouse Renovation

Goal: $76,727

Projected Start Date: March 1st, 2023

Purpose: In 2022, History Colorado State Historical Fund awarded Open Door $230,181 to renovate and preserve the historic structure of the LightHouse. $76,727 is owed by Open Door to partner with History Colorado.

Impact: Lighthouse provides a safe, caring, and sober community for men struggling with addictions and other issues and fosters spiritual, emotional, educational, and vocational growth.

 

PROJECT #3

Nehemiah House Basement Renovations

Project #3: Nehemiah House Basement Renovations

Goal: $15,000

Projected Start Date: May 20th, 2023

Purpose: To complete a full renovation of Nehemiah basement, which includes painting, new lighting and flooring of two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and living room.

Impact: Our Nehemiah basement serves as our Emergency Housing that provides short-term shelter for individuals and families in our community experiencing temporary hardship and homelessness.

 
 
 

PROJECT #4

Nehemiah House Apartment B Renovations

Project #4: Nehemiah House Basement Renovations

Goal: $7,000

Projected Start Date: May 1st, 2023

Purpose: To complete painting and flooring for a one-bedroom apartment that will house our Nehemiah Leadership Initiative Director.

Impact: Housing for our NLI Director contributes to retaining staff dedicated to equipping urban leaders to step into their Kingdom calling.

 

PROJECT #5

Magdalena House Renovations

Project #5: Magdalena House Renovations

Goal: $2,500

Projected Start Date: February 15th, 2023

Purpose: To complete renovations for the last vacant room of Magdalena that will house an ODM staff member or housing graduate for next step or Level 2 sober living.

Impact: Magdalena House has become a “fount of encouragement and wisdom for residents” navigating difficulties and hardships amid sober living.

 

Project #5: Completing Thrive in 25 Campaign

Remaining Goal: $654,190

Purpose: Thrive in 25 allows us to complete the purchase of five Open Door ministry homes:  Cornerstone House, Nehemiah House, Te Veo House, LightHouse and Antioch House.

Impact: In 2022, through the generosity of our dedicated partners, Thrive in 25 paid off three of these five homes. All Thrive in 25 campaign dollars directly benefit our most vulnerable communities in urban Denver. It also enables other branches of Open Door to grow and serve our strategic initiatives and makes Open Door more nimble to address the root causes of poverty in urban Denver!
