Past Projects
Over the last two years, Open Door has completed significant capital improvements to our ministry homes and properties. Since January 2023, we have completed the following:
We invite you to join our efforts to continue improving our ministry homes and properties at Open Door. When we renovate our structures inside and out, we continue God’s work to restore many lives in the same way.
Project #1: 25th Anniversary Mortgage Payoff Campaign
Goal: $945,000 (original goal) $570,000 (left to raise)
Projected Start Date: December 31, 2024
Purpose: This campaign allows us to complete the purchase of five Open Door ministry homes. So far, we have raised $375,000 and paid off three of those homes. We have $570K left to raise for our LightHouse (boarding home for men struggling with homelessness and crises) and Antioch House (Level 2 Housing for Open Door program graduates and staff).
Impact: All campaign dollars directly benefit our most vulnerable communities in Denver, some of whom are served in our ministry homes. It also enables Open Door to expand programming and implement strategic initiatives to actualize our vision to see a restored Denver overflowing with vitality and hope in Christ!
Project #2: Exterior Painting of Treasure & Chayah Houses
Goal: $20,000
Projected Start Date: January 1, 2025
Purpose: Open Door started “beautifying the block” in 2024 by painting the exteriors of three of our five ministry homes purposed to provide shelter for women transitioning out of homelessness. This project will help us complete the exterior painting of our two remaining ministry homes on Marion St.
Impact: Beautifying the block allows our residents to enjoy and take pride in their living spaces, homes that are over a hundred years old but have become safe havens and avenues toward self-sufficiency.
