Along with their fellowship placement, NLI Fellows will be expected to participate in classroom discussion time, homework and assigned reading, mentorship, church attendance, participating in street outreach and evangelism, spiritual discipline and self-care practices, and a practicum project in the last months of program.

We require that NLI Fellows live in Open Door housing. Housing is provided at no cost. Fellows are responsible for covering the costs of food, travel, toiletries, recreational activities, etc. A stipend is included to cover some of these expenses.

The 2024/2025 NLI Fellowship will begin September 4, 2024 and go through May 2, 2025, with a week off for Christmas and a week off for Spring breaks.
The 2025/2026 NLI Fellowship will begin September 3, 2025 and go through May 7, 2026 with a week off for Christmas and a week off for Spring breaks.

NLI Fellows will be expected to work 25 hours a week in their ministry placements, with an additional 10-15 hours of fellowship course work, groups and community time.

- Clothing for 2-3 weeks (Both summer/winter/gym clothes)
- Tennis shoes, sandals/shower shoes, snow boots, dress shoes
- 1-2 formal outfits (to be worn at the Gala and graduation)
- 2-3 business casual outfits (for church or special events)
- Heavy winter coat, light jacket or hoodie, rain jacket
- Swimming suit
- Bedding (pillow, sheets, blanket/comforter)
- Towel, washcloth
- Toiletries/Hygiene items
- Laundry detergent (washer/dryer on site)

- Bible
- Books on the required reading booklist

Yes, as long as the timing works with your particular ministry. All vacations much be approved ahead of time by your direct supervisor and communicated to the NLI Director.

In many cases, you can receive credit for your fellowship. The NLI Director can act as a field supervisor on your behalf. We will do our best to work with the requirements of your school to make this possible. Please let us know how we can best help you.

Yes, there is. We ask that you read the first book on this list before arrive.
Power of Proximity. - Please read before the program starts. For each chapter, write down 3 main takeaways and then 1-2 questions for discussion

We ask that NLI fellows do not work another job because they are required to work a 40-hour work week.

The Fellow will need to be careful not to be too busy with side responsibilities. It may work out, but it must be approved with the NLI Director first.

NLI Fellows are paid a $400/month stipend with option to support raise additional income.

Typically, fellows will need to pay for their own food, gas, bus passes, car insurance, entertainment, etc. Cars are not required, but it may be expected that interns use their cars for ministry purposes if they have one. In those cases, fellows will be reimbursed for gas.

NLI fellows are required to live on the ODM block. The cost is free during the duration of your fellowship. You will share a bedroom with other fellows. You will have limited personal space, so please pack light!

As you arrive and depart, you will need to arrange transportation to and from Denver. If flying, you can fly in and out of Denver International Airport (DIA). ODM staff will do their best to provide transportation from DIA if needed. Public transportation, Uber/Lyft and other forms of transportation are available. You are also allowed to bring your own vehicle.
